| Nebraska Cornhuskers vs. Pen State Nittany Lions |
Bet Phoenix has all off the latest odds on this game and all of the college football betting action for week 11. Penn State was off this past weekend in order to further prepare for the upcoming matchup against the Huskers. In Penn State's last outing, the Nittany Lions defeated the Illinois Fighting Illini 10-7 on October 29. PSU has been getting it done this season with defense as Penn State has the third ranked scoring defense in the nation allowing a very stingy 12.4 points per game, and if Penn State can find any sort of offense, the Nittany Lions could easily be the favorite the rest of the way in a crazy Big Ten season. Matthew McGloin took the majority of the snaps for the Nittany Lions in their last outing, and McGloin really struggled against the Illini completing just 9/24 for 98 yards and one interception. The Penn State defense should be able to contain the Husker offense - at least somewhat, but if Penn State is unable to move the ball against the Blackshirts of Nebraska, it could be an interesting day in Happy Valley this coming weekend. The Nebraska Cornhuskers went into their game with the Northwestern Wildcats heavily favored and in control of their own destiny in their pursuit of a Big Ten Championship. That changed somewhat this weekend when Pat Fitzgerald and his Northwestern Wildcats went into Lincoln and upset the Huskers on heir home field 28-25. Martinez was impressive for the Huskers as T-Magic threw for 289 yards and two scores against the 'Cats defense. The problem this past weekend for the Huskers was their defense's inability to stop the Wildcats offense. Northwestern quarterback Persa went down with an injury, and in came Kain Colter and Colter dominated the Huskers defense throwing for 115 yards and one score while rushing for an additional 57 yards and two more scores. It is possible that Nebraska could have been looking past a struggling Northwestern team in order to prepare for their trip to Happy Valley, but with Bo Pelini at the helm for Nebraska that scenario is unlikely. Nebraska found out last weekend that in the Big Ten, anybody can beat anybody on any given weekend. Penn State will have a very hard time looking forward to this game and focusing on football with all of the different scenarios going on around them.
