The Trojans won going away 42-17 as Southern Cal has an extra day of rest this week to get ready for the 6-3, 4-2 Washington Huskies who played last in the Pac-12 on Saturday night. Twenty-four hours earlier the Trojans' Barkley answered the Buffaloes' first score on their first possession with a 33-yard strike to freshman wide receiver Marqise Lee. Nine seconds into the second quarter freshman tight end Xavier Grimble caught a TD to give USC their first lead of the game. Freshman running back Amir Carlisle also caught one as Lee and sophomore WR Robert Woods finished the game with TDs apiece. The Trojans take on Washington next at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The Huskies were doubled up at home 34-17 by No. 7 in the BCS Oregon. UW got on the scoreboard second with senior placekicker Eric Folk's field goal and only trailed after one 10-3. With 30 seconds to go in the first half the Huskies' sophomore QB Keith Price threw a one-yard pass to freshman TE Michael Hartvigson to cut the lead in half. However the 8-1, 6-0 Ducks scored with relative easy during the third quarter as neither team scored during the final period. After Oregon's first strike in the third Price threw his only second-half touchdown to freshman WR Kasen Williams from 10 yards away. Now these two teams can duke it out to make some noise in the crowded Pac-12 and make up some ground in the standings.
