North Carolina had a bye week last week, and were losers of a 13-0 contest to North Carolina State in their most recent game. The Tar Heels got completely stonewalled by the Wolfpack in their last contest, and have now lost the last five meetings to the Wolfpack in the series. Giovani Bernard has led the rushing attack for UNC this season, but the Heels totaled just three yards rushing against the Wolfpack. Quarterback Bryn Renner was knocked out of the game in the third quarter, and the Heels totaled just 165 yards of total offense and turned the ball over three times. The Tar Heels have lost three of their last four games, and sit at a 6-4 mark before entering Blacksburg.

Virginia Tech has continued to roll along with a mission since suffering their lone loss of the season to Clemson. In typical Frank Beamer fashion, the Hokies have made a push to finish the season on a very strong note. After facing the Tar Heels this week, the Hokies only game remaining is with Virginia. Last Thursday, VaTech proved to be too big and too strong for Georgia Tech. Logan Thomas passed for three scores and ran for another two. David Wilson continued his impressive season totaling 175 rushing yards. Virginia Tech has found a way to string everything together now, and looks the bill of a legitimate BCS team.

North Carolina is 6-4 this season SU and 4-6 ATS. Virginia Tech is 9-1 SU and 3-7 ATS. Six of the last seven of the games between these schools has gone under the total. VaTech is 6-1 SU against North Carolina in their last seven games played.

This game will be the best one on tap for Thursday night and may actually be more entertaining to watch than Thursday NFL.
