The Golden Eagles survived 4-6, 2-4 Central Florida's upset bid a week ago 30-29 as the Knights went for the win with no time remaining. UCF could have tied the game with an extra point but they elected to go for the killshot. The Eagles had held the Knights to three points apiece the first three quarters. However the money period saw Central Florida outscore Southern Mississippi 20-14 and nearly steal a win.

Scoring for the Golden Eagles for the day was senior quarterback Austin Davis to freshman wide receiver Chris Briggs and junior fullback Bruce Johnson along with senior placekicker Danny Hrapmann's five field goals. The 2-8, 2-5 Alabama Birmingham Blazers await Southern Miss at home after storming back to win at 2-8, 1-5 Memphis 41-35.

UAB trailed 35-17 after three, but a 24-0 fourth quarter erased the deficit and won the Blazers the game. Freshman PK Ty Long began the comeback with a 24-yard FG, his second FG of the game, as sophomore QB Jonathan Perry threw his third TD of the day to senior WR Nick Adams. Then Perry threw his fourth TD to freshman WR Jamarcus Nelson who caught Alabama-Birmingham's only TD during the third period. Then to cap off the comeback sophomore RB Greg Franklin rumbled in from 10 yards away as freshman WR Jay Davis caught Perry's first TD of the day to cut their first 18-point deficit down to 11 at the break.

This game could end up being closer than the experts think and underdog bettors may want to take notice when this game gets underway.
