The Penn State Nittany Lions have enough on their mind with the recent scandal at the school, but now they will have to go into enemy territory to play the Ohio State Buckeyes.

The Ohio State Buckeyes fell to the Purude Boilermakers in overtime last weekend after Boilermaker quarterback Robert Marve scampered in for a one yard touchdown run in overtime giving Purdue the 26-23 win. Braxton Miller was under center for the Buckeyes against Purdue and Miller was solid once again, throwing for 132 yards and two scores while adding an additional 43 yards on the ground and one score. Purdue was able to keep the Ohio State ground attack in check for the most part allowing just 132 yards on the ground to the Buckeyes with Dan Herron leading the way with 62 yards on 18 attempts.

The Buckeyes have a top 20 scoring defense, however Purdue was able to gain over 350 yards on the Buckeyes, and most improtantly score the winning touchdown in overtime. The Buckeyes defense should have an easier time of things this weekend going up against a Penn State offense that ranks 102nd in the nation in scoring.

I'm not going to spend time covering the controversy surrounding Penn State and the firing of Joe Paterno. This article is covering the game itself this week and my lean against the spread, and I'm sure we've all heard plenty on the matter and established our own opinions about the resolution. Penn State fought back against the Huskers after a tough first half and made things very interesting down the stretch. Matthew McGloin was under center for the Nittany Lions and McGloin was effective against the Blackshirts throwing for over 190 yards on the day and no interceptions.

Penn State is definitely a throwback team that relies on solid defense and a good running game to get their wins and Penn State had a tough time getting much going against the Nebraska defense only rushing for 160 yards on the day.

Penn State will be hard pressed to be able to put a quality game on the road together with the recent turmoil surrounding the school.
