The Arkansas Razorbacks are in the background of the college football landscape this season but they will get a chance to move to the forefront if they can win out this season. Tyler Wilson has put together a monster year at QB throwing for 2,850 yards with 18 touchdowns and five interceptions running Bobby Petrino’s offense. Dennis Johnson is averaging 6.6 yards per carry and Ron Wingo Jr. is averaging 4.7. Jarius Wright has 53 catches and 10 touchdowns and Joe Adams is a star on his own with 43 catches. The Razorbacks’ defense has 10 interceptions, six fumble recoveries, and 17 sacks.

Jerry Franklin has 82 tackles, Jake Bequette has six sacks, and Tramain Thomas has four interceptions. A win this week for Arkansas would set up a showdown with LSU that could be for the SEC West.

It has been a disappointing season for Mississippi State and Head Coach Dan Mullen and if they don’t get a win in one of their final two games they will come up short of going to a bowl game. Tyler Russell has taken over at QB completing 54.4 percent of his passes for eight touchdowns and four interceptions. Vick Ballard is a capable running back with a nose for the endzone but his season has been disappointing as well with 811 yards and seven touchdowns. Arceto Smith is the Bulldogs’ leading receiver with 27 catches, the same number that Chris Smith has while Chad Bumphis has 22.

MSU’s defense has 12 interceptions, 18 sacks, and five fumble recoveries. Cam Lawrence leads Mississippi State with 90 tackles, Brandon Wilson has 81, and Jonathan Banks has five interceptions. The expectations for Mississippi State were sky high heading into the season and they have fallen well short.

The Razorbacks are on upset alert this week because they could easily look past the Bulldogs on the way to the big battle in the Bayou.
