| Miami Dolphins vs. Buffalo Bills |
The latest odds for this exciting NFL game and all of the great wagering action on the gridiron can be found at Bet Phoenix. The first meeting in the 2011 season between AFC East rivals Buffalo and Miami occurs this Sunday afternoon at Miami's Sun Life Stadium. The two long-time foes are scheduled to kickoff at 1:00 PM. The early football betting lines favor the Dolphins by -1 point. Buffalo, which started off the 2011 season as one of the AFC's biggest surprises, are looking to get back to their winning ways this Sunday, especially after getting blown out in Texas this past Sunday by the Dallas Cowboys, 44-7. The loss completed the Bills NFC East four-game foray in which Buffalo finished 2-2. Buffalo's QB Ryan Fitzpatrick took a beating against Dallas, though suffering only 1 sack and 4 QB hits. Fitzpatrick was forced to scramble out of the pocket nearly all afternoon, and his 3 interceptions, including a fourth-quarter 43-yard TD return by Terrence Newman, were a season-high. For the game, Fitzpatrick completed just 20 of 31 passes for 146 yards. Buffalo RB Fred Jackson, who grew up practically on the site of Cowboys Stadium, was the only Bill to have any offensive impact, gaining 114 yards on 13 carries. Jackson's 2011 rushing total of 917 yards leads the league. The normally strong Buffalo defense apparently was either in awe of the plush Cowboys Stadium surroundings, or was just flat-out over matched. Dallas shredded the Bills for 463 total yards, including 135 yards rushing from speedy Cowboys rookie RB DeMarco Murray. Buffalo was also the victim of a performance by Dallas QB Tony Romo, who connected on 23 of 26 passes for 270 yards and 3 TDs. The loss was also a tough one for Buffalo head coach Chan Galley, who was facing the team he coached for two seasons in the late '90s for the first time. Just one day shy of their last home victory (Nov. 14, 2010), the Miami Dolphins snapped a team-record 7-game losing streak as well as winning their second straight in 2011 since opening the season 0-7 with a 20-9 win over the Washington Redskins this past Sunday. Off-season RB acquisition Reggie Bush scored twice for Miami, as they dealt the Redskins their fifth consecutive defeat. QB Matt Moore also continued to effectively lead the Dolphins, hitting on 20 of 29 passes for 209 yards. Bush, obtained from New Orleans in the off-season, had his third straight productive game after creating some doubt as to his effectiveness early in the season. The former Heisman Trophy winner racked up just 51 yards on 18 combined carries/receptions, but he made several clutch plays when the offense appeared bogged down. Facing as punchless an offense as the NFC has to offer, Miami's defense performed accordingly, holding Washington to 246 yards of offense, while picking off two of 'Skins QB Rex Grossman passes. They also sacked Grossman 3 times, and held Washington to just 3 Graham Gano field goals. Defense hasn't been Miami's problem this season, but excessive time on the field due to ineffective offense has taken its' toll. Head coach Tony Sparano, still not completely off the proverbial "hot seat" due to his teams' woeful start, remains confident that the success of the past two weeks will continue. The Bills are currently tied with the New York Jets for second in the AFC East, a game behind resurgent New England. Other than return games with the Jets (next week) and Patriots, Buffalo's remaining schedule appears favorable for at least 4 more victories, . It's also a toss-up as to whether 9 wins will be enough to make the postseason. For the Dolphins, Sparano's optimism is admirable and expected, but Miami still has too many offensive holes to plug, and the defense, although generally solid, is facing some high-powered scoring units on their remaining schedule, including a trip to Dallas on Thanksgiving. Reggie Bush's continued production is an absolute necessity, and Matt Moore, although his field-management skills have been proven, still needs to go down-field more often for Miami to spread opposing defenses. This game may not seem important to some NFL Fans, but it could absolutely make the difference to the winner of this game.
