Heinz Field in Pittsburgh plays host this Sunday to an AFC North rematch between the Steelers and the Cincinnati Bengals. Kickoff is slated for 1:00 PM, and the NFL's early football betting line favors Pittsburgh by -7 1/2 points.

The two teams met just three weeks ago in Cincinnati, with the Steelers prevailing, 24-17, led by RB Rashard Mendenhall's 2 TDs and some typically clutch defense. Bengals rookie QB Andy Dalton was picked off by the Steelers twice in the fourth-quarter as Cincinnati's five-game winning streak was snapped by the loss.

The Bengals (7-4) are still just one game back of the Steelers and Baltimore in the division, courtesy of their hard-fought 23-20 win over in-state and division rival Cleveland this past Sunday. The win snapped a two-game losing streak. Trailing nearly the entire afternoon, Cincinnati tied it at 20-20 on Mike Nugent's field goal early in the final period, and then used some stiff defense to keep the Browns at bay, while the rookie pitch-and-catch duo of QB Andy Dalton and WR A.J. Green teamed up on a clutch third-and-eight pass play, gaining 51 yards to Cleveland's 2-yard line, setting up Nugent's game-winning 26-yard FG with 0:38 remaining. Dalton, leading candidate for AFC Offensive Rookie of the Year, hit on 21 of 31 passes for 270 yards and a touchdown, while Green, slowed the last two weeks by a bruised knee, caught just 3 passes for 110 yards, none bigger than the long strike late in the contest.

RB Cedric Benson also had an performance, carrying 21 times for 106 yards, while TE Jermaine Gresham also contributed mightily, hauling in five balls for 68 yards and a score. The Bengals' defense also had some big moments, sacking Cleveland QB Colt McCoy twice and delivering six QB hits on the afternoon. Although they gave up yardage in chunks for almost the entire game, Cincinnati stiffened up in the fourth-quarter, allowing the Browns only 54 yards of offense.

Pittsburgh survived a hard-fought battle in Kansas City on Sunday night, prevailing 13-9 in a defensive struggle. The win kept the Steelers tied atop the AFC North with Baltimore at 8-3. The Steelers were sluggish on offense, with Ben Roethlisberger accounting for just 193 yards on 21 of 31 passing. Big Ben rarely attempted any passes longer than 10 yards, as KC's defense took away the deep ball with some smothering coverage.

Rashard Mendenhall and Isaac Redman combined for 79 yards on the ground between them, while WR Antonio Brown, frequently over-shadowed by receiving mates Hines Ward and Mike Wallace, hauled in 4 passes for 81 yards to lead Pittsburgh.

As is often the case, Pittsburgh's defense was the difference-maker in this contest, intercepting Chief's QB Tyler Palko three times, as well as delivering five QB hits on Palko, subbing for the injured Matt Cassel. All-Pro safety Troy Polamalu had to leave the game in the first-quarter with an apparent concussion after making a tackle on 290-lb. KC OT Steve Maneri, who'd caught a pass out of an unorthodox formation. Polamalu's status for the Bengal game is questionable.

Cincinnati is eager to gain a measure of revenge for their close loss at home to the Steelers three weeks ago, and with A.J. Green back in full swing, and with Cedric Benson's impressive production recently, they are certainly capable of staying with any team in the AFC. Pittsburgh, especially at home however, is never an easy game, with or without Polamalu. Pittsburgh's remaining schedule looks, at least on paper, very favorable. They host Cleveland next Sunday, the first of two games with the Browns, then travel to San Francisco the nest week before closing out their home schedule by hosting St. Louis. The Bengals have a slightly tougher schedule, hosting AFC South leader Houston next week, then they take on two NFC West squads, St. Louis and Arizona before closing out at home against Baltimore.

If the Bengals want to gain some respect in the AFC North they need to get this victory and will play their hearts out against Pittsburgh on Sunday.
