The New York Giants are still reeling from the impressive performance that Drew Brees had against them on Monday night. Apparently, they are a glutton for punishment as they now go home to take on the Green Bay Packers and the incredible offense that they possess. It will be interesting to see what kinds of answers that the Giants have for the Packers.

Green Bay is 11-0 and shooting for home field advantage in the NFC Conference. They should be able to do so considering they have a 2 game lead over the 49ers and a 3 game lead over the Saints. This means that the Packers could go 2-3 over their final 5 games and still at least tie for the number 1 seed in the NFC. However, the Packers should win more than 2 games down the stretch.

With Aaron Rodgers playing at the NFL MVP level he has been lately, it would be a shock to see the Packers lose even 1 game this season. The Packers were slowed down by the Lions pass rush for the majority of the game on Thanksgiving day, but Rodgers still threw for over 300 yards and 2 touchdowns. He is still on pace for the most yards in a season, most touchdowns and highest completion percentage.

The Packers defense is going to be the key to the game. They have been criticized at points this season, but they came up big against Detroit. A Clay Matthews interception set up the only touchdown of the first half and set the tone of the game. Stafford would be picked off 2 more times in the game, and that would keep the Lions offense in check.

For the Giants, it is going to be a huge test once again for the defense. After the game, some of the Giants players were talking about how they had to run a vanilla defense in order to try and contain Brees on Monday. Would the Giants be thinking about doing it again on Sunday? If so, it would be another long day for the Giants defense. If they can get their pass rush going, however, it could slow down the Packers, as Rodgers struggles more against pressure.

To win this game, the Giants are going to have to have a huge day offensively from Eli Manning and Brandon Jacobs. Jacobs will have to run the ball like an to control the clock and Manning will have to score almost every time he touches the ball. The Packers will score at least 25 or more points, so at least three touchdowns will be needed in this game.

The Giants have a chance if they can keep the ball out of Rodgers hands for the majority of the game. If the running game falters, it will be up to Victor Cruz, who had 2 touchdowns vs New Orleans, and Hakeem Nicks to make some plays in the passing game to take the pressure off of Manning. Green Bay cannot afford to look past this game, however. The Packers will be going home to play the Oakland Raiders next week in a game that will be tough to win, even at home.

For the Giants, they have to win this game to keep their playoff hopes alive. At 6-5, they need some help to prevent another collapse. They will play at division leading Dallas next week, so a win here could make next week a game that decides who finishes in first place in the NFC East.

This is going to be a close game, even if it is high scoring. The opening NFL odds for the game on Sunday has the Packers favored by a touchdown. Don’t be surprised if the Giants give the Packers all they are worth in this game.
