The Miami Dolphins play host to the visiting Oakland Raiders this Sunday at SunLife Stadium. Gametime is set for 1:00 PM, and the Dolphins are -3 point favorites according to the early NFL odds. The Raiders (7-4) currently hold the top spot in the AFC West and are one of the best teams in football, considering the talent they have on the field. Oakland's defense, despite allowing Chicago 172 yards rushing, gave the Bears' reserve QB Caleb Hanie a rude welcome in his first start in place of the injured Jay Cutler, sacking the backup signal-caller four times (one apiece for Tyvon Branch, Rolando McClain, Kameron Wimbley, Richard Seymour), as well as recording three interceptions (Wimbley, Michael Huff, Stanford Routt). Oakland's pass rush was ferocious, collecting seven QB hits on Hanie. Miami's three-game winning streak was ended on Thanksgiving Day in Dallas by the Cowboys, 20-19, in a back-and-forth affair. Shayne Graham's field goal with 7:14 remaining had given Miami a 19-17 lead, but Dallas, led by some clutch passing by QB Tony Romo, drove 54 yards in 10 plays to set up rookie PK Dan Bailey's fourth game-winning kick of the season, a 28-yarder as time expired. Dolphin QB Matt Moore continued to make a strong case for himself as Miami's best bet under center, throwing for 288 yards and for the fourth consecutive game, managing the Dolphin offense nearly flawlessly. Moore did however, fumble three times, losing one. RB Reggie Bush, also giving an performance for the fourth straight contest, ran for 61 yards, as well as hauling in 3 passes for an additional 35. WR Brandon Marshall had five receptions for 103 yards and a score. The Dolphin defense played well enough to win, which has been their pattern most of the season, but some ill-timed penalties cost them dearly at key moments. LB Kevin Burnett led Miami with 12 tackles, while Vontae Davis and Sean Smith recorded interceptions off of Romo. The loss dropped Miami to 3-8. Oakland, with the Broncos breathing down their neck, can ill afford to lose any more games, especially to a bottom-dweller such as the Dolphins. Darren McFadden is still listed as day-to-day, but the Raiders have played some of their best football of the season without him, although his return, whenever it occurs, will be a bonus. Going to Green Bay's Lambeau Field next Sunday, Oakland also can't be looking ahead. For the Dolphins, all they can do is try and forget the season's first half, which saw them at 0-7 before their recent win streak. Their remaining schedule features games with playoff hopefuls Buffalo, New England and the Jets, but their game with Philadelphia next Sunday finds them going up against a dangerous team, especially since they've been all but eliminated from playoff possibility. The Raiders are in a letdown spot and they need to make sure they take the cross country trip seriously or they could end up on the losing end of this game.

The Silver and Black look promising as a team that can win their division, but the better be weary of a very good Dolphins team.
