| NFL Week 14 Buffalo Bills vs. San Diego Chargers |
The latest odds for this game and all of the other exciting games in week 14 in the NFL can be found at the top rated sportsbook, Bet Phoenix. The Buffalo Bills travel to San Diego to face the Chargers in late Sunday afternoon game. Both teams enter the game at 5-7, but San Diego is coming off a win in its last game against Jacksonville. The Bills are mired in a 5 game losing streak. That losing streak has all but eliminated the Bills from playoff contention. As it stands now, they are 2 games behind the Titans, Bengals and Jets and all have a head to head tiebreaker over Buffalo. The Bills would need to win out and then have all of those team lose at least 3 of their next 4. In other words, the season is over for Buffalo. San Diego is more or less in the same boat, but they can still catch the Broncos in the AFC West. While Denver's defense is playing amazing, it figures that Tim Tebow cannot win all of his games. If San Diego wins out and gets some help, it could be playing in January. Buffalo is going to be dealing with more injuries this week. Aaron Williams is not likely to play for the Bills defense on Sunday, meaning that rookie 7th round pick Justin Rogers is going to get his first NFL start. It is just more bad news for a Bills team that has lost 7 starters for the season due to injury. These injuries should allow Philip Rivers to have a monster game. He tore up the Jags on Monday night and should face a pass rush that has done nothing all year. Vincent Jackson should have a good game as he is going against Rogers in all likelihood. If Rivers can get back into his groove, it will be a long day for that Buffalo defense and it will put even more pressure on a suddenly inept Buffalo offense. In the past 5 games, the Bills offense has averaged 13.4 points a game, a far cry from the 30+ points they were averaging to start the season. Some of that can be pinned on injuries, but part of it has to be put on Ryan Fitzpatrick, who has been shaky since signing his new contract. On the bright side, CJ Spiller finally had a decent game versus Tennessee going for a career high 84 yards and a TD, with another one called back due to holding. Both teams are going into this game hoping to salvage some respectability from this season, but it looks like both teams are just playing out the string. In a sign that the season is really over, the Bills announced they will rotate tackles just to get more guys game reps. Even though both teams are pretty much out of the running for the postseason, they still have to play the games left on their schedule. The Buffalo Bills will return home next week to take on the Miami Dolphins in a game that could keep the Bills out of last place in the AFC East. The Chargers will go on the road to play the Baltimore Ravens in a game that should be a test for the Chargers. Baltimore is still in the hunt for a divisional title, so it makes sense that they will come hard and bring everything they have. Not good for a team that might still be mathematically alive for the postseason. San Diego is a 6.5 point favorite for their match-up with the Bills on Sunday, and they will look to win and cover that number if they hope to stay in the race in the AFC West with the Broncos and the Raiders.
