| NFL Week 14 Houston Texans vs. Cincinnati Bengals |
The latest odds for this game and all of the other exciting games in week 14 in the NFL can be found at the top rated sportsbook, Bet Phoenix. The Houston Texans look to continue their march to the AFC South title when they take on the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. The Texans are sitting at 9-3 and are off to their best start in franchise history, while looking poised to take their first ever trip to the playoffs. The Bengals are also surprising people this season. This game will feature two rookie quarterbacks starting for their teams. Andy Dalton was a second round pick out of TCU who has started since day 1. His role was solidified after the hold out, and subsequent trade, of Carson Palmer. T.J Yates sort of had the job fall into his lap thanks to injuries to Matt Schaub and Matt Leinart. Both are out for the season. Sunday will also feature an intriguing match-up between two playmakers at wideout. A.J Green is becoming the favorite target of Dalton, while Andre Johnson provides a deep threat for Houston when he is healthy. He may or may not be playing this Sunday as he continues to have health issues. Even if he cannot go, there will still be plenty of weapons on offense for Houston. Houston is going to lean heavily on Arian Foster, who has once again had an MVP like season. He is taking the pressure off of his rookie quarterback and allowing his team to keep the ball and to continue winning. Last week vs. Atlanta he went off for 152 all-purpose yardage and a touchdown. As most fantasy owners know, he is one of the best, and most reliable, running backs in the league. Cincinnati will also rely on its running back Cedric Benson. He is at his best when he is given a lot of carries, and can handle the load quite well. He will be key to helping the Bengals control the clock and help its defense stay rested and ready to go all day. If he can chip in a score or two, the Bengals should be able to win this game. The Bengals are going to try and stop the Texans attack with an array of blitzes and other pressure to slow Foster down and get at Yates. The Bengals defense has been consistently ranked in the top 5 of the league, so it will be a challenge for Houston on Sunday. The defense has been widely credited for helping Cincy improve their record this season. Don't sleep on the Texans defense though. Wade Phillips has them playing well and that has been a major factor in their success as well. Both teams are looking to gain ground for the playoffs, so it will be important for both teams to get a win. However, there will be more games to play, so where do they go from here? The path for the Bengals looks much easier as they get to play the NFC West for a couple of weeks. Next week, Cincinnati will go on to St. Louis to play the 2-10 Rams. While no game is ever a gimme, the Rams have played poorly this season and should help the Bengals pad their record. The Texans will host Carolina and Cam Newton. He is proving that he is a dangerous player, so this will not be an easy game for Houston at all. A win versus the Bengals would give them some breathing room heading into next week. Cincinnati is a 3 point favorite in their game this Sunday. They need this game much more than the Texans do if they have any hope of making the playoffs. Look for the Bengals to put forth a complete effort to try and get this very important win.
