The match this weekend between the Texans and the Colts some would deem unfair, as the favored team Houston with a10-4 record goes head-to-head with Indianapolis whose record is 1-13. This is just all part of competitive sports on a professional level. Of course, on any given Sunday regardless to what a team's ranking and scoring is, they can be beaten. From the beginning of a football season filled with high hopes and winning aspirations, every team looks forward to the competition and challenges that lies ahead. There is a big risk that every owner takes when incorporating players for his or her football team to fulfill each position with the best, especially the quarterback position. After all, this is what brings them the big dollars. That risk has been challenged in the case of the Indianapolis Colts. When a team depends on one position to become their strongest link, and that link is broken or drops out of the picture, the complete organization is greatly affected by it. The curtain has been pulled back for the Colts and it is now being fully revealed that without their star quarterback, they can not survive. It takes the work of a whole team to make season after season a successful one. Even if they do not go to the Super Bowl, if they have had a cohesive and unified game plan, their style of playing have moved them closer to that goal mark. The Texans seemed to have latched on to that train of thought as they have played games this season where every player from the quarterback to the defensive and offensive teams have set their sight on one common goal. They in turn realized that if any exaltation is going to stand out in their organization it will be collectively and not independently, as shown in their last 28-13 win over the Carolina Panthers. There is nothing shabby about a team who has played hard from the very first year of their existence, trying to redeem the same respect and appreciation from a town that was once held for a previous NFL football team. Each season has brought them to a place where that respect has become a reality and the support from that great municipality is without question. Although the Colts come into the 16th week with a ranking that is not the greatest and are in last place in their division, they can never be counted out to lose this game. Mostly, because the lower ranked team has nothing to lose and are out to prove that they can be better, so they in turn will play a more aggressive game. Whereas, the other team who is at the top of their division and will come out ahead whether they lose or not, may not play as hard as they should. At this point of the season, the Colts need a shot of confidence. Although they were able to capture a win in last week's game against the Titans (27-13), which has given them a (1) in the winning category, whatever is being said in the locker room still has not made it through the minds of the players. The body of anything is as good as the head. If the head is thinking failure and disappointment, so will the remainder. The Colts will have to come out this Sunday with the mindset that they can win. The Texans, in respect, just need to keep playing as they have been. Coming into this game with a nonchalant attitude, expecting an easy win can be their biggest enemy. It is these types of games where a loss can easily happen. This proves to be a great game, and as we all know, on any given Sunday, anyone can win. The Colts may not get a win, but they have the Texans in a right frame of mind with a lot of ailing players and just trying to get healthy. It might cost them luck, but the Colts will go all out tonight.
