Virginia Tech quarterback Logan Thomas is one of the best young signal callers in the game and Thomas is only going to get better as his career progresses. Logan Thomas finished the season with an impressive 19 touchdown passes against 9 interceptions while throwing for 2799 yards. The Hokies may have a very good quarterback, but Va. Tech still prefers to get things done on the ground first with the Hokies averaging just over 188 yards per game on the ground. Defensively the Virginia Tech defense is ranked eighth in the nation in scoring defense, allowing a very impressive 17 points per game. The Michigan Wolverines will present a unique challenge for the Hokies as Brady Hoke is sure to have his Wolverines prepared for this matchup, and of course Wolverine quarterback Denard Robinson is a challenge for any defense to contain. The Michigan Wolverines finally got another win over their hated rival the Ohio State Buckeyes, although granted it wasn't your typical Buckeye season, but something tells me Wolverine faithful don't mind. Michigan finished 10-2 on the year with their only losses against the Hawkeyes and a very good Michigan State squad. The Wolverines offense has one of the more dynamic players under center in Denard Robinson who is turning into a true dual threat quarterback, rather than just a running quarterback who occasionally makes plays with his arm. Overlooked in the Robinson hype is Michigan running back Fitzgerald Touissant. Touissant eclipsed the 1,000 yard mark this season and later in the year helped carry the Wolverine ground attack. Perhaps the biggest difference for the Wolverines this season was with their defense. Michigan's defense was horrible last year and this season the Michigan Wolverines defense is ranked seventh in the nation allowing just 17.2 points per game. The team that is able to move the ball on the ground, could be the team that is crowned the Sugar Bowl champion.
