Brett Favre will draw all the attention in the NFL this Sunday as he returns to Green Bay for the first time since January 2008,now in the Vikings’uniform.

In 16 seasons as Green bay’s Quarterback Favre led the Packers to 11 playoffs appearences,seven division titles and broke several NFL records in his 255 consecutive starts with the club.

After Favre retired in March 08,the Packers traded him to the New York Jets when he tried to come back a few months later.MeanwhileGreen Bay had commited to Aaron Rodgers.

Favre retired again after missing the playoffs with the Jets but decided to join the Minnesota Vikings in August,partly to take revenge on the Geen Bay’s organisation after the bitter separation last year.

Favre has led the Vikings to a 6-1 start,losing their first game of the season 27-17 at Pittsburgh last Sunday.

Minnesota played toe-to-toe against the Super Bowl champions Steelers but Favre failed to produce another of his famous comeback-win as he was stripped of the ball for a 77-yard fumble return and then intercepted at the Steelers 18 for an 82-yard return TD in his last two drives,late in the fourth quarter,when either could have won the game for the Vikings.

Favre is proving he’s still one of the best quarterbacks in the league,he’s thrown for 1,681 yards,12 TDs and only 3 INTs with the NFC North leaders Vikings,adding to the chagrin of the Green Bay’s fans.

It will be interesting to see what kind of reception the legendary QB will receive at Lambeau Field as the leader of the hated Minnesota’s division-rivals,but it is to expect that the boos will be louder than the cheers.

“I don’t think it will be as bad”Favre said “But Idon’t know that.”

Favre is downplaying any understandable anxiety about returning to Green Bay,saying he’s more concerned about the division race.

The 4-2 Packers won their last two games against Detroit and at Cleveland and ,despite those two teams have only two wins betwwen them,they must feel more confident going against Favre and the Vikings in a very important divisional clash on Sunday.

Aaron Rodgers threw for 246 yards and a season-high 3 TDs against the Browns,has passed for 1,702 yards with 11 TDs and only 2 INTs in six games.

Since Favre’s departure the fans and the Packers’organisation have rallied behind Rodgers: “He deserves everything that he accomplishes” said Green Bay’s coach Mike McCarthy “He’s just doing a very good job of running the offense,and I can’t say enough about that.”

The Packers’ offensive line didn’t allow a sack last week,but Rodgers will need much better protection on Sunday as the Vikings lead the NFL with 24 sacks,8 of which came in their first meeting when Green Bay lost 23-30 in Minnesota on Oct.5.Jared Allen led the Vikings’defense with 4 ½ sacks, a forced fumble and a safety.

The Packers have won 3 straight and 12 of 15 over the Vikings at Lambeau field,but most of those was with Favre as their QB.He’ll be leading the ennemy on Sunday and he will be at his best in what should be a very emotional game for the 40-year-old .

Favre cost Minnesota the game at Pittsburgh,I expect him to clean up his act in Green Bay and his teammates will produce a special effort to help their quarterback win this game,as they did in the first meeting against the Packers.

There is almost always something exciting happening when Favre is playing,this return to Lambeau Field marks another intense moment of his prestigious career,at this point and time maybe one the most significant personally.
