SNF Eagles – Bears Preview The Philadelphia Eagles (5-4),despite losing their last 2 games, against Dallas and at San Diego, are still only 1 game behind NFC East leader Dallas (6-3).

With 7 games left, the Eagles feel they can still win the division for a spot in the playoffs, but every game is now crucial.

“This a game that we need to win”Eagles QB Donovan McNabb said “That’s the way I’m approaching it and that’s the way the other guys are approaching it as well.”

McNabb was 35 of 55 for a season-high 450 yards last Sunday, but struggled in the red zone until the fourth quarter when he threw 2 touchdown passes. He was intercepted in the end zone on the last play of the game in the 31-23 loss to the chargers.

The Eagles will have to rely heavily on McNabb in Chicago,as star RB Brian Westbrook is out after suffering his second concussion in three weeks.

Westbrook didn’t play in the second half in San Diego and the Eagles were held to a season-low 29 yards rushing. McNabb has been inconsistent this season,he will have to find a way to finish his drives with TDs if Philadelphia wants to catch the Cowboys.

Chicago is in third place in the NFC North, they have virtually no chance to win the division led by the Vikings (8-1),but they could fight for a wild card if they pass Green bay currently 1 game ahead at 5-4.

They cannot afford to lose their third straight game on Sunday, after dropping the last two against Arizona and at San Francisco.

Bears’ QB Jay Cutler is far to make good on the high expectations Chicago had when they traded him from Denver. He threw 5 interceptions in the game against the 49ers last Sunday, all of them in San Francisco territory, and the last one at the 12-yard line to end the game.

Cutler is leading the league with 17 picks,he had 18 total last season with Denver.

The Bears will have also to rely on Cutler to get them out of the hole,as they rank 30th in the league in rushing with 85.2 yards per game.RB Matt Forte has been held to 482 yds this season, when he ran for 1,238 as a rookie in 2008.

When the offense has so many problems, surely Cutler and Forte are not the only ones to blame, football is a team game and everyone has to do his job.Offensive coordinator Ron Turner is conscient that the lack of production has various causes.

“It’s different in each one” said Turner “..I couldn’t really say –Jay,you’ve got to do something different on those plays.”

Boht teams see this game as a must-win Sunday night, for Chicago it could mean an early exit from the race for the playoffs.

Every game is meaningful at this stage of the season, the Eagles are not as desperate as the Bears and will cash out on Chicago’s mistakes. That’s my feeling for this Sunday Night Football game.
