Defensive coordinator Perry Fewell has been promoted Bills’ interim head coach 2 weeks ago,replacing Dick Jauron,and got his first win 31-14 over the Dolphins on Sunday.Fewell has never been a head coach at any level and is expected to have a limited role in the position,with the Bills chasing former Denver coach Mike Shanahan. . Fewell,however,took a more aggressive approach in offense in the last 2 games and the Bills scored 24 unanswered points in the fourth quarter against Miami,when they averaged 12.3 total in the eight previous games.QB Ryan Fitzpatrick hit Terrell Owens on a 51yard TD pass,the second time they hooked up for a lenghty score in the last two weeks. . The Bills’ defense continues to force turnovers,they got 4 interceptions on Sunday for a total of 25 on the season (tied 4th in the league).They picked off the Jets 6 times in New York on Oct.18 in the 16-13 overtime win,when rookie QB Mark Sanchez threw 5 interceptions. . Sanchez struggles continue,he threw 2 TD passes for 7 INTs in the last 3 games,but was picked only once on Sunday at Carolina where he was 13 of 17 for 154 yards.The Jets’defense held the Panthers to 179 yards total offense,and the Jets snapped a 3-game losing streak with a 17-6 victory. . The Jets will try to keep alive their slim chances at a wild card in a very crowded AFC,with Denver,Baltimore,Pittsburgh and Jacksonville ahead of them.They also are only 2 games behind New England in the AFC East. . Jets head coach Rex Ryan knows he can’t lose another game,and this one might have a special meaning for him as he was raised by his mother in Toronto between the ages of 3 and 15. . “I think it’s going to be great” Ryan said “I’m glad we’re doing it.We just want to win.We don’t care if it’s in Toronto,in Buffalo or right here....We’re going to do whatever it takes to get a win.” . Bills interim coach Fewell has taken steps in the right direction to resurrect Buffalo’s woeful offense,he will want to prove he can do the job on a permanent basis. .
