MNF Ravens – Packers Preview
MNF Ravens – Packers Preview Big game on Monday night for the Baltimore Ravens and the Green Bay Packers. Both teams are in the hunt for a wild card berth in the postseason, and that means there is little room for error in the last five games of the season.

While Green Bay (7-4) currently holds a wild card in the NFC,Baltimore (6-5) is fighting Denver,Pittsburgh and Jacksonville for one of the two available in the AFC.

Baltimore’s 20-17 overtime win over Pittsburgh last Sunday kept their chances alive, but they need a win against the Packers to keep pace with the other contenders.

The Ravens’ defense has stepped up in November, allowing only 11.6 points per game while going 3-2 in that span.Their last five opponents have a .400 winning percentage, but a victory against a quality team like the Packers would be a major boost to capture a spot in the playoffs.

Green Bay is looking to keep a 3-game winning streak going, after their 34-12 win at Detroit on Thanksgiving Day.Aaron Rodgers threw for 348 yards and a career-tying-high 3 TDs,but he will face a tougher challenge against Ray Lewis and the Ravens defense. His favorite receiver Donald Driver caught 7 passes for 142 yds with 1 TD,and CB Charles Woodson had a field day with a sack,a forced fumble,a fumble recovery and two interceptions(one returned for a TD).

The Packers have allowed an NFL-low 281.5 yds and have 9 takeaways in the 3-game winning streak, and Rodgers has completed 70.8 % of his passes for 881 yds and 6 TDs with no INT in that period.

Baltimore’s 5 losses came by a total of 23 points, including three by a field goal or less. The Ravens held the Steelers to a season-low 145 passing yards, but Roethlisberger wasn’t playing.

Emerging star RB Ray Rice had 88 yds rushing and caught 5 passes for for 67 yards for his 8th straight game with at least 100 yds from scrimmage.

Joe Flacco has been suffering from a sprained ankle, but coach John Harbaugh is confident that the Ravens’ second-year QB will be feeling better on Monday after a full week to heal.Flacco was 23 of 35 for 289 yds and threw his first TD in 4 games last Sunday.

It’s a tough one to call,as both teams have a lot to lose in this game.I think the Packers will keep their winning streak alive on Monday night,in a very close hard-fought contest.
