WILD - CARD Eagles - Cowboys Preview
WILD - CARD Eagles - Cowboys Preview Division rivals Philadelphia (11-5) and Dallas (11-5) will meet for the second time in a week at Dallas Stadium Saturday night, this time on a first-round playoff game.

The Cowboys clinched the NFC East title with a 24-0 victory last Sunday and forced the Eagles to return.Philadelphia would have earned the NFC No 2 seed and a first-round bye with a win, instead they lost for the second time to Dallas and finished seeded sixth for the second consecutive season.

The Eagles crushed the Cowboys in the regular-season finale last year, with a berth in the postseason at stake. This Saturday, though,Dallas have all the advantages with last Sunday’s shut down of Philadelphia who were riding a six-game winning streak.

“They played better than we played”Eagles coach Andy Reid said “They coached better than we coached....If you get caught up in all the what ifs and this and that, then you are making a mistake. We don’t have time for that. It’s a hurried-up week and you have to get right back on the horse and figure out how to not get bucked off again.”

This contest represents Dallas’ best chance to win a playoff game for the first since 1996.Philadelphia finished fifth in the league with 429 points, but only scored one touchdown and 16 total points in 2 games against the Cowboys.

Last week,Dallas’dominant defense held the Eagles to a season-low 228 yards and Donovan McNabb was sacked four times.

“It all starts with me.I have to raise my level of play, and everyone else has to as well.”said McNabb.

Dallas enters the playoffs with two consecutive shutouts and owner Jerry Jones said that coach Wade Phillips is “the defense MVP”.Phillips is the only coach in the league serving as defense coordinator, and his defense has done an excellent job of containing Pro Bowl wideout DeSean Jackson to only 5 receptions for 76 yds and 3 punt returns for 18 yds and no TD in their two meetings this season.

This will be the third playoff game for Tony Romo,he had a 53.8 percentage and a total of 390 yds passing in the previous two. However,he threw for 311 yds and 2 TDs in last Sunday victory.

The Cowboys have the momentum, thay play at home, and it looks like they’ve got the Eagles figured out.Dallas is my pick in the Saturday matchup.
