Bob Hope Classic
Bob Hope ClassicThis week the Bob Hope Classic will tee off for the 52nd time. The tournament will start on Wednesday and be played at four separate Coachella Valley courses to include La Quinta Country Club, the Arnold Palmer Private Course at PGA West, SilverRock Resort and the Nicklaus Private Course at PGA West.

The star studded event will be filled with top PGA tour players and celebrities to enhance this unique event.

Bet Phoenix will have a multitude of wager opportunities on the Bob Hope Classic that will satisfy any die-hard golf viewer.

The Pro-Am will get things started. Play in the 72-hole pro-am portion of the tournament will begin at 8:30 a.m., Wednesday at each of the four courses. The 128 teams will consist of one pro and a three-player amateur team. Every pro and every amateur team will play a different course each of the first four days of the tournament, with the pros playing with a different amateur team each day.

The PGA entrants all have an extensive background and plenty of experience in this tournament and other big events.

Defending champion Bill Haas will attempt to win for the second time in as many years and he is joined by top PGA Tour players such as 2010 tour money leader Matt Kuchar, major championship winners Stewart Cink, Lee Janzen, Justin Leonard and Mark Calcavecchia.

The list of talented players continues with 2010 U.S. Ryder Cup members Bubba Watson and Jeff Overton, past Hope winners Charley Hoffman, Chad Campbell, Joe Durant, Jesper Parnevik and Mark Brooks.

Finally the previous winners include 2010 tour winners, Tim Clark, Ryan Palmer, Health Slocum, Bill Lunde, Derek Lamely, Matt Bettencourt and Cameron Beckman.

The two things to come to the Bob Hope Classic are the purse and the list of celebrities that play. The purse for the event is $5 million, with $900,000 going to the winner and the luxury of playing with great celebrities and former athletes.

Some of the former athletes that will tee it up this year include, Marshall Faulk, Bo Jackson, Julius Erving, Grant Fuhr, Willie Gault, and Sugar Ray Leonard.

The first “fun” tournament of the PGA season gets underway and BetPhoenix is the place to wager on the event.
