| PGA Event: Three Potential Upsets at The WGC-Accenture Match Play World Championships |
Online sportsbook BetPhoenix has this event covered with a slew of betting propositions and match play wagers on every day of the tournament. The first round may be the best round to watch as 32 matchups get the tournament started. Like any tournament there are bound to be more than a few upsets along the way. Here are three possible upsets to watch this week at the World Championships 28 Robert Allenby (Australia) v 37 Ross Fisher (England) Fisher gets the 37th seed in the tournament but is a match play warriors who excels in this format. While Allenby is a great gofer and an exceptional ball-striker, he struggled in the short game and that could cost them in this first round slugfest. 12 Ian Poulter (England) v 53 Stewart Cink (US) Ian Poulter is the defending champion so will have a lot of clout coming into this tournament. Poulter struggled in his last outing and will have to shake off that performance is he hopes to beat Cink in this matchup. Cink loves to shine in matchplay and is very comfortable with this format. Poulter is on upset alert. 2 Martin Kaymer (Germany) v 63 Noh Seung-yul (South Korea) What would a tournament be without a monumental upset? Watching a 63 seed knock off a number two seed would be good for the game and fun to watch. Kaymer had a tough time in Dubai and he was inconsistent off of the tee. Noh is a great young talent and if he can start fast there may be no looking back as he notches the upset. The tournament is one of the funniest to watch as players vie for the title of winning a world championship.
