Friday July 3rd 2nd day

Beautiful golfing conditions on this second day of the AT&T National.

Tiger Woods, the Host of the tournament, followed his first round 64 by a solid 4 under 66 in the morning to lead for the time being at 10 under.Tiger said that he didn’t hit the ball very well today but found ways to score. Rod Pampling is in 2nd place at 9 under thanks to an excellent round of 64.

Anthony Kim,who set the course record yesterday with a fantastic 8 under 62,tied Tiger at 10 under with a birdie at the 8th hole but since then bogeyed the 9th and the 11th to drop back to 8 under, level par for the day.

It seems that most of the players hit a wall when Tiger’s name shows up in the first page of the leaderboard. Will it be the case again at the AT&T National? I know that Tiger is no doubt the best player in the world but this is not a contact sport and I don’t see how all those very good players on Tour can feel so much pressure whenever Wood’s is lurking or leading.

At the 14th Kim,Davis Love and Jim Furyk playing together all missed the green.Furyk holed his chip shot for the rough for a birdie 3,Love got a difficult up and down from the far left bunker for a par and Kim ended up with a bogey 5 from the front bunker.Furyk and Kim are now tie in 3rd place at 7 under.Davis Love is working on a 4 under par round currently at 5 under for the tournament.

D.A. Points just birdied the 16th to join Kim and Furyk at 7 under.

Bryce Molder shot an even par round 70 to stay at 6 under.

Anthony Kim birdied the par 5 16th to get back to 8 under in 3rd place alone.

D.A. Points bogeyed 18th for a 70 on his second round, staying at 6 under where he started the day.

U.S. Champion Lucas Glover had a good round 66 to take him to 5 under, very much in contention for the week-end.

Daniel Chopra from Sweden joins D.A. Points and Bryce Molder at 6 under in a tie for 5th place.

Everybody will be chasing Tiger Woods at the Congressional Country Club in Bethesda.I wish Anthony Kim played a little better today to be paired tomorrow with Tiger but it is Rod Pampling who gets the honor as he is 1 shot behind at 9 under after shooting the best round of the day 64. Kim is in 3rd place at 8 under and will play with Jim Furyk who scored a solid 67 to stand at 7 under after 36 holes. 75 players made the cut at +2.

When you place your bets at BetPhoenix.com keep in mind that Tiger has won 31 times of 37 when starting in the lead after 36 holes.
