Some of the top golfers will compete for $2.7 million in prize money at the final major championship of the season, the Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship, to be held August 17-21 at Westchester Country Club in Harrison, NY.

This year marks the 29th playing of the Senior Players Championship. The field will be comprised of 78 players and the format will be a 72-hole medal-play event. Westchester Country Club's West course will play to a par 71 at 6,980 yards for the championship. As the last of the Champions Tour majors, the double Charles Schwab Cup points awarded to the top-10 finishers in the Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship will be a critical factor in deciding the Charles Schwab Cup points race.

Players scheduled to compete in the Senior Players Championship have played in a total of 900 PGA TOUR events at Westchester CC (41 years from 1967-2007).

Players in the field who won the PGA TOUR event at Westchester Country Club include Bob Gilder (1982), Scott Simpson (1984), Bob Tway (1986) Hale Irwin (1990) and David Frost (1992).

Eleven players in the field have competed more than 20 times at Westchester CC. This list includes Jay Haas(competed at Westchester 27 times), Bob Tway (23), Tom Kite(23), Bob Gilder (22), Ben Crenshaw (22), Joey Sindelar(22), Brad Faxon (22), Loren Roberts (21), Fred Couples(20), Don Pooley (20) and Craig Stadler (20).

All four rounds of the Senior Players Championship will be broadcast live on the Golf Channel, 12:30 p.m -- 3:00 p.m ET Thursday and Friday, 3:00-6:00 p.m. ET on Saturday and Sunday.

With this event getting plenty of attention and available to be watched on a daily basis, it will be one of the best to watch and wager on this weekend at BetPhoenix.
