Tiger started with a 7 shots lead and made sure with a 3 under par 68 on Sunday that nobody would catch him.He finished at -19 to claim his 5th BMW Championship trophy out of 11 starts, his 6th victory in 2009 and his 71st PGA Tour title(only 2 behind Nicklaus’73 wins). The world #1 also regains the first spot of the Fedex Cup standings going into the last playoff,THE TOUR Championship in Atlanta. Marc Leishman with 69 and Jim Furyk with the best round of the day 66 finished T 2nd at -11.Sean O’Hair also with 66 took 4th place alone at -10 and Zach Johnson is 5th at -8. Defending champion Camillo Villegas moved up to 8th place at -5 but doesn’t make it to the last Fedex playoff, neither does Sergio Garcia T 6th at -6 with Padraig Harrrington. Padraig has been in and out of the top 5 of the Fedex standings but finally gets to The Tour Championship in 6th position, needing help besides winning to have a shot at the Cup. The big beneficiaries on Sunday were Jim Furyk who gains15 spots from 18 to 3rd and now can take the Fedex Cup with a win on the last playoff, and Australian rookie Marc Leishman who jumps from 67 to 16. The most painful moment was when Brandt Snedecker, who was playing with Woods and Leishman in the last group on Sunday, 4 putted from 13 feet for a triple bogey and took himself out of the top 30 on the last hole of the third playoff leg. Besides having a shot at the Fedex Cup the 30 players who get in The Tour Championship get to play in the first three major tournament of the following year,The Masters,The U.S. Open and The British Open. The top 5 of the Fedex standings are in order Tiger Woods,Steve Stricker,JimFuryk,Zach Johnson and Heath Slocum. Those 5 players will take the Fedex Cup with a win at East Lake in Atlanta next week.
