Loren Roberts,Fred Funk,Bernhard Langer and Jay Haas are the only four players in the limited 30-man last event of the year who can capture the Charles Schwab Cup and the $1 million season-bonus.

The 1-point for each $1.000 in prize money is doubled at the Charles Schwab Champioship so,with a $442.000 first prize there is 884 points to grab for the winner.

Jay Haas,who won the Cup in 2006 and 2008,must win the tournament and hope that 2007 winner Loren Roberts finishes 6th or worse and Fred Funk 3rd or worse to take the Cup.

Langer and Funk obviously have a better chance to catch Roberts and a lot of combinations come in play for the currently second and third in the standings.

The Top three can claim the Cup without winning the event,and the defending champion at Sonoma Andy Bean,who tied for 2nd at AT&T Championship last Sunday,could be a factor in the race if he repeats last year’s performance.
