The Seniors are competing at Sonoma Golf Club in California in the 30 men-limited last event of the year.

John Cook shot a course-breaking 10 under par 62 on Friday to take a 3-stroke lead into the weekend at -14.Cook had 10 birdies without a bogey and only 23 putts to match his career-best and post the Tour’s season lowest round.

Tom Watson,with 64, almost mached Cook’s round,and stands at -11 tied 2nd with Thursday’s leader Phil Blackmar(67).

Cook won two weeks ago at the Woodlands and Blackmar last Sunday at Oack Hills, while Watson, who lost at the British Open in a playoff with Stewart Cink,is looking for his first victory on the Champions Tour in 18 months.

The Charles Schwab Cup point-leader Loren Roberts is T25 at -1.Bernhard Langer, tied 7th , is the only contender for the $1 million annuity who is in the top 10 to earn points.

Jay Haas in 15th place at -4 and Fred Funk T16 at -3 are the only other players who could snatch the Cup from Roberts.

After disappointing 70 and 73 on his first two rounds,Roberts will have to regroup on the weekend if he’s to stay ahead in the million-dollar race.
