| Tiger Woods leads by 3 in Melbourne,Australia |
Tiger woods is leading the JBWere Masters at Kingston Heath by 3 at -10 ,over Jason Dufner (USA) and Australians Greg Chalmers and James Nitties at -7. On his firt visit to Australia in eleven years,Tiger finds himsef in a familiar position, leading the field after a 6 under par 66 on Thursday followed by a 68 on Friday in difficult conditions. A huge crowd followed the world No1,only seen at major championships, and created an incredible atmosphere throughout the first two rounds. The patrons hung on Woods’ every move and you could ear some gasps when Tiger slammed his driver in the ground after a missed tee-shot.He also showed some frustration when he failed to birdie the 15th from 10 feet and then the next hole from 6. But at the end it was a bogey-free round that pleased the crowd and the 3-shot leader. “To shoot 68 today,I thought it was a pretty good number considering the conditions”Woods said “I did have a couple of short birdie putts that I missed...but not to drop a shot to par, those are always days you feel quite good about it.” Jason Dufner shot 67,the best round on Friday, early in the morning when conditions were better, and even had the lead for a short time before Tiger birdied the first two holes to go to -8. Chalmers and Nitties missed the chance to play with Woods on Saturday as they finished their round after Dufner. Tiger is 1 of 4 in the last four tournaments he had the lead after 36 holes,he will have little opposition this weekend, though,as none of his pursuers is in the top 50 ranked players of the world. The Aussies came to see the world No1 win,and they might get their wish. In golf, however, anything can happen.
