| Steve Stricker enters the Zurich Classic as the highest-ranked player in the field |

The TPC Louisiana is very different from Harbour Town where Jim Furyk won last week. The course hosting the Zurich Classic is longer and the greens are bigger and easier to hit, but much more difficult to negotiate when trying to avoid the dreaded three putts. Good scramblers and putters have a distinct advantage this week. Charles Howell III hasn’t won in 2010, but he’s been very consistent, standing fifth on TOUR in scoring average and second in total birdies, a perfect combination to win at TPC Louisiana. His erratic putting, though, has been the main reason he’s still without a victory this season. He was runner-up here in ’09. David Toms is the home-boy. The Louisiana native is a former champion, and finished T14 at the Masters two weeks ago. A shoulder injury has slowed him down, but he’s feeling better and will make a point to play well in New Orleans. K.J. Choi is one of the men in form on the PGA TOUR. He’s got six top-25 finishes this year, including a runner-up at Transitions and a T4 (with Tiger) at the Masters where he shared the lead at some point on the final round. The Korean is ready to win. Ian Poulter won the WGC-Accenture Match Play in February and finished T10 at the Masters. The Brit is long of the tee and a very good scrambler and putter, he could become the third multiple winner on TOUR this season (joining Furyk and Ernie Els both with two wins). Brian Davis has the reputation to stay hot when he gets hot. His unfortunate loss to Furyk on the first playoff hole last week when he called a two-stroke penalty on himself is a tough pill to swallow, especially when you’re looking for your first win on the PGA TOUR. The Englishman had the fewest holes over par (four) at Harbour Town and is 16th in scrambling. Defending champion Jerry Kelly is a long shot. He was last in putting last week, finishing T59. He’s been very inconsistent for the past two months, but he loves the atmosphere (and the food) in New Orleans. That might sparkle him up, who knows? Rory Sabbatini was one of three runner-ups last year and placed T14 at Harbour Town. The South African has got the length and is fourth in sand saves, a great stat on this course where the greens are protected by well placed bunkers. Boo Weekley, always a crowd favorite, is driving the ball as well as anyone on Tour. He seems to have recuperated from his shoulder injury and should be ready to make some noise- Boo-Booo- Boooo! That’s a few players to take into consideration for the Zurich Classic, but you might have other ideas. Steve Stricker is looking to found his form back. Since he won at Riviera on February 7, the now World No. 3 (he lost the #2 spot to Phil Mickelson) has posted only one top-10 in his last five starts. However, Stricker is too good a player to stay in a slump very long. He should be in contention this week in New Orleans.
