| The Vancouver Canucks Look to Stay healthy as they host the Edmonton Oilers |
The best online sportsbook to bet on the NHL is BetPhoenix. They offer great wagering opportunities on every game on the schedule. The Canucks are hoping no news is good news when it comes to injuries. For Dam Hamhuis, it probably is. For Manny Malhotra, only time will tell. Hamhuis wasn't allowed to talk to reporters after suffering a concussion in Sunday's win over Columbus, though the fact he was at least watching practice the following day as the Canucks prepared to play the Predators -- not to mention the fact he flew with them to Nashville -- has to be considered a positive. Coach Alain Vigneault said Hamhuis "was feeling better" but wouldn't hazard a guess on a return, saying the team would follow the league's protocol for concussions, which typically means at least six days before returning. Considering it was the second concussion in less than two months for Hamhuis -- and most were surprised he was back from the first in just 13 days -- that's welcome news in Vancouver. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for Malhotra, who had a second surgery on his badly injured left eye Tuesday. Confirmation of that operation is where the update ended from the Canucks, though a source confirmed it was done in New York by Dr. Stanley Chang, the same surgeon who reattached Bryan Berard's retina more than a decade earlier. It will be quite some time -- and likely more operations -- before anyone knows whether Malhotra will see again, a seriousness conveyed by NBA star Steve Nash. The Canucks will play it safe down the stretch and will lose to the Oilers. Play on Edmonton
