The Canucks have clinched the top spot in the league and all that comes with it, so neither side has much to play for. The Canucks are searching for new forward combinations to open the postseason. But with salary-cap issues making it impossible to call up reinforcements from the AHL even that will have to wait until the playoffs start.

The Canucks are 10-2 in their last 12 games following a win and 17-5 in their last 22 when their opponent scores 5 goals or more in their previous game. The Canucks are 43-18 in their last 61 overall and will easily beat the deflated Flames.
