The Chicago Blackhawks Look to Keep winning against the Detroit Redwings

The Chicago Blackhawks have played well enough to get into the playoffs, now they have to end the season on a high note against the Detroit Redwings.

It may be the biggest goal -- or no-goal -- of the season for the Blackhawks.Marian Hossa's goal at 7:52 in the second period of Wednesday's game against the St. Louis Blues woke up the Hawks, swung the momentum in his team's favor and ended up being a huge moment in their 4-3 overtime win.

Before the goal, the Blues had dominated, taking a 2-0 lead. Hossa appeared to kick in the puck, which rolled over the goal line from post to post before it was grabbed by goalie Ty Conklin. The goal was ruled good on the ice, and officials in Toronto didn't find conclusive evidence to overturn it. They also said Hossa tipped the puck with his stick after kicking it off the post, making it a good goal.

Hossa's goal wasn't the game-winning goal, but it stemmed the momentum the Blues had and opened the door for two more goals by the Hawks.With the win, the Hawks maintained their cushion over the Dallas Stars in the Western Conference standings and helped eliminate the Calgary Flames from playoff contention. The Redwings are trying out young players.

The Red Wings were not satisfied with Valtteri Filppula's performance this season. He has been too inconsistent and isn't playing with enough grit and determination.

So they're giving young Justin Abdelkader an opportunity to assume Filppula's role as the second-line center. Abdelkader has played on the second line, between big wingers Johan Franzen and Todd Bertuzzi, the past three games and has made a favorable impression on coach Mike Babcock.

The Redwings could care less about this game and lose easily.
