The Anaheim Ducks Look to take down the Surging Nashville Predators
The Anaheim Ducks Look to take down the Surging Nashville Predators The high flying offense of the Anaheim Ducks was shut down in the first game of the NHL playoffs as the Nashville Predators locked down the defense. Now in game two the Ducks will have the pressure to win a game.

After having home-ice advantage in the opening round of the Stanley Cup playoffs land unexpectedly in their laps, the Ducks gave it away in exactly 21/2 hours Wednesday night at Honda Center.

An early penalty, a cross-checking call on youthful winger Matt Beleskey, led to an early power-play goal by Nashville defenseman Shea Weber, and the Ducks never recovered in a 4-1 loss to the Predators in the first game of a Western Conference quarterfinal series.

The Ducks need to do exactly that Friday in Game 2 or else face the unenviable prospect of traveling to Nashville down two games to none in the best-of-7 series.

While the Predators turned in a pretty much textbook Nashville performance, the Ducks played nothing even remotely approaching their normal game. Goals by Steve Sullivan and Mike Fisher in the final five minutes of the second period turned the remainder of the evening into nothing more than a penalty-fest for the Ducks.

The Ducks are 7-1 in their last 8 playoff games as a favorite of -110 to -150 and the Predators are 5-14 in their last 19 playoff games as an underdog. The Ducks get revenge and even up the series.
