| The Buffalo Sabres Look To Avoid a Shootout with the Philadelphia Flyers |
Bet Phoenix is the best place to wager on NHL playoff hockey. From round one to the Stanley Cup, Bet Phoenix has all of the great wagering opportunities and NHL Odds for the playoffs. In a game that had everything but 5-on-5 play, the Flyers relied on their balanced scoring and the steady goaltending of veteran Brian Boucher to even the first-round series at one win apiece. The Flyers followed a wild six-goal first period with a second period that produced game-breaking goals by Ville Leino and Danny Briere. Still, the Flyers' power play was underwhelming, going 1-for-10. They are now 1-for-15 in two playoff games. It took Peter Laviolette 79 games of the regular season to publicly anoint rookie Sergei Bobrovsky as the Flyers' starting goalie for the Stanley Cup playoffs. Laviolette has a policy of not announcing his goalie before a game day and refused to break that after pulling Bobrovsky in the first period of the Flyers' 5-4 win over the Sabres in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. Bobrovsky was excellent in his playoff debut, allowing one goal in the Flyers' 1-0 loss Thursday night. But he failed to corral the puck on a scramble beside his net on one Sabres goal and was beaten high glove side on another as the Sabres grabbed a 3-2 lead, prompting Laviolette to replace him with veteran Brian Boucher. Laviolette also was quick to point out Boucher's ability to remain calm in a pressure situation, which could work in his favor for Game 3 in what promises to be a very raucous HSBS Arena. The Flyers are 7-1 in their last 8 when their opponent allows 5 goals or more in their previous game and they have Buffalo on the ropes. A win game three by the Flyers will steal home ice back. Hockey Picks: Philadelphia Flyers

With the series tied at one game apiece, the Buffalo Sabres prefer to play a low scoring game against the Philadelphia Flyers. This would play to the strength of the Sabres and give them a better chance of taking a 2-1 lead in the series.
