| The LA Kings are ready to stun the San Joe Sharks |
Going forward in what has now turned into a best-of-five series after the Kings evened things with a victory in Game 2, stealing home ice in the process, the Sharks are going to have to buckle down on special teams and be more disciplined. After San Jose visited the penalty box too often on Saturday in Game 2, it couldn't find a way to kill penalties and couldn't find a way to take advantage of power plays. San Jose surrendered goals on each of its first two shorthanded situations and went 0-for-5 on the power play. The Sharks were not only off on special teams, but their competitive spirit wasn't nearly what it needed to be in a playoff game. Now San Jose has to find a way to bring much more energy in unfriendly surroundings on Tuesday in Los Angeles for Game 3. Defenseman Drew Doughty tied a franchise record with four points on two goals and two assists to support Jonathan Quick's 34-save shutout as the visiting Kings took advantage of the Sharks' undisciplined play to even their best-of-seven playoff series at a win apiece. Jack Johnson and Kyle Clifford also scored for the Kings, who bounced back from an overtime loss in Game 1 to seize home-ice advantage heading back to Los Angeles for Game 3 on Tuesday night. The Sharks struggled on special teams, allowing two goals on their first two short-handed situations and going 0-for-5 on the power play. The Kings will carry that momentum into game three and get the win over the San Jose Sharks to take a surprising lead in the series.
