The LA Kings Look To Stay Alive Against the San Jose Sharks
The LA Kings Look To Stay Alive Against the San Jose SharksThe LA Kings will have home ice for game six and they hope to get a win against the San Jose Sharks or they could be heading home.

Bet Phoenix is the best place to wager on NHL playoff hockey. From round one to the Stanley Cup, Bet Phoenix has all of the great wagering opportunities and NHL Odds for the playoffs.

The Kings stayed alive by winning that least game by a score of 3 to 1. Los Angeles took advantage of San Jose's sloppy early play to convert three turnovers into three quick strikes, then turned to goalie Jonathan Quick to make 51 saves to win Game 5 and force at least a sixth game in the best-of-seven Western Conference quarterfinal series.

Only Patrick Marleau had an answer for Quick, as his second goal of the series came at 5:43 of the second period on assists from Niclas Wallin and Joe Thornton. Antti Niemi was pulled after allowing three goals on just four shots. Antero Niittymaki relieved and stopped all 18 shots.

If the Sharks are learning anything about themselves in this playoff series, it's they don't want to make things easy on themselves.

San Jose faces a Game 6 in Los Angeles on Monday with a second chance to eliminate the Kings and advance -- likely to play the Detroit Red Wings, who are loving the fact they are sitting at home not collecting any more bumps and bruises while their potential opponents are still playing.

For the second straight home game on Saturday, the Sharks came out flat and never recovered, allowing the Kings to remain in the series. It happened in Game 2 also when -- after having won the opener and knowing Jarret Stoll was suspended for the second game -- the Sharks laid an early Easter egg to lose 4-0. Game 5 was just as bad, as the turnover-happy Sharks basically handed the Kings three goals on four shots in the opening nine minutes.

San Jose will be looking to buck a historically difficult challenge on Monday. The Sharks are 3-13 all-time in the sixth game of a playoff series and only 2-9 on the road. The Sharks get sloppy again and the Kings win at home to force a game seven.
