| The Vancouver Canucks Look To Close Out the San Jose Sharks |
Bet Phoenix is the best place to wager on NHL playoff hockey. From round one to the Stanley Cup, Bet Phoenix has all of the great wagering opportunities and NHL Odds for the playoffs. Special teams decided Sunday's pivotal Game 4, and because Vancouver was a lot better than San Jose, it's the Canucks who are on the brink of reaching the Stanley Cup finals. Vancouver holds a 3-1 series as it heads home for Game 5 on Tuesday. After killing off five consecutive power plays in the opening 24 minutes of action, the Canucks converted three 5-on-3 power plays in the span of only 1:55 to all but sew up the fourth game and likely the series as well. San Jose rookie Andrew Desjardins and Ryane Clowe scored third-period goals after Vancouver's lead grew to 4-0. Antti Niemi stopped only nine of 13 shots he faced. It's not so much the percentage that makes a power play successful, but more when the goals are scored. The Sharks were perfect on their first five power-play chances in the Western Conference finals, but when they really needed the man-advantage to click during Sunday's pivotal Game 4, it didn't. The Sharks went 0-for-5 on the power play in the opening 24 minutes and paid dearly during a 4-2 loss to the Vancouver Canucks that leaves them needing to win three straight games to prolong their season. The team's mental approach to Sunday's noon start came into question as much as the physical toll a quick turnaround from Friday night's emotional, 4-3 victory in Game 3 may have taken. The Sharks just didn't seem as ready as they were in the previous game. And they weren't nearly as sharp in terms of early-game execution as they needed to be. The Sharks will play tough, but have little hopes of winning this game, as the series will come to a close with a Canuck victory. Hockey Picks: Vancouver Canucks
