Danica Patrick finally made the move to NASCAR, the first female car driver to ever win an IndyCar race hooked up with JR MotorSports in the NationWide Series, she will be driving a Chevrolet car number 7 and sponsored by Godday.com.

In a press conference she made the following comments “This is something I always wanted to do and I finally have the opportunity and I will make the best of it. "I think my determination and commitment are really going to be what makes this venture go well," said Patrick, who arrived at the news conference as the "GoDaddy Girl," wearing her familiar zippered GoDaddy outfit and black gladiator heels. “I'm a competitive driver, and I always want to do well, and this will be absolutely no different,". "In fact, there's no reason to think it'll be any less “pressure”. There's going to be a lot of people watching, and there's been speculation for a long time about it. "I will approach this just like I do every other race that I go to, and I'll give it my all. Patrick said she's pays little attention to the naysayers who doubt her ability to make the transition from open-wheel cars to stock cars. "Everybody is entitled to their own opinion -- that's fine with me. My job is to prove to all the people that are around me that I'm committed, that I want to do this that I'm willing to put in the right amount of effort, and that's all I have to do."

Most of Patrick's Nationwide races will be bookended around her IndyCar season, which started March 14 in Brazil and ends Oct. 2 at Homestead. Web hosting provider GoDaddy.com will sponsor Patrick in the races she runs. Tony Eury Jr., former Cup Series crew chief for Dale Earnhardt Jr. and a JRM co-owner with Kelley Earnhardt, Earnhardt Jr. and Rick Hendrick, will serve as Patrick's crew chief.

Her first competitive stock car experience was driving the #7 Chevrolet in an ARCA race on February 6, 2010 at Daytona International Speedway, in which she finished in sixth place. She raced at Daytona on February 13, 2010, in the NASCAR Nationwide Series for her first career start in the series, which ended while Patrick was caught up in a 12-car accident. She started 15th and finished 35th. Patrick started her second NASCAR Nationwide Series race February 20th, 2010 in the Stater Brothers 300 at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California from 36th place and finished in 31st place in the JR Motorsports Chevrolet. She did not qualify for the race on speed but invoked a provisional to make the grid. In her third Nationwide race, Patrick finished 36th when she crashed into Micheal McDowell, her 2nd DNF in 3 races. Her next Nationwide race will be in June.

Many have speculated that her stay in NASCAR will be short lived however others welcome her with open arms and stated that her incursion into the circuit will be very beneficial for the organization and will bring many blessings.
