| Chip Reese Player Profile |
He was known amongst the highest cash game players as the best all around poker player ever. Chip even contributed to Doyle Brunson’s Super Systems book by collaborating on the seven card stud section. Doyle Brunson has been quoted as saying Chip is “one of the finest young poker players in the world”. That’s one heck of a compliment coming from “the Godfather” of poker. hen in 2006, when he won the 50k HORSE Event; he proved it to the public. Chip is a legend in the poker community and a true gentleman to everyone who knew him. Chip carried with him a huge smile and even bigger heart. He was a hard working family man, was loved by all his peers, and never lost his composure after a unlucky hand. At a young age, Chip took the ultimate gamble and decided to become a professional gambler. It was after winning 60k in a tournament in Las Vegas, that Chip knew where he was meant to be and what he was meant to do, and boy was he supposed to do it! By the time his semester at Stanford was supposed to start, Chip had already turned that 60k into 100k and there was no way he was going to stop there. Chip encountered the highs and lows in poker, kept grinding, and stayed a class act the whole way. Between his desires to become the best and the long hours spent honing his skills, chip grinded his way from the bottom to the top. He went all the way to becoming the youngest player ever to be accepted into the Poker Hall of Fame in 1991. Many stories are told of Chip Reese and his exploits and I’d like to share one of my favorites. I’ve paid very close attention to Chip and his stories, and one also seems to stand out in my mind over them all. Chip had been grinding at the tables and raked in a bunch of cash one day, which was similar to most of his days. After his session, Chip decided it was time to leave so he gathered his chips and cash and left for his car. While opening his car door, he placed his bag of cash (that contained a few hundred thousand dollars in it) on the roof of his car. He forgot to grab the loot and drove away. After pulling over at an unknown location, Chip got out of his car and the bag was still there! It’s ok Chip, there was only enough cash to buy a nice new home in there! When you have a few hundred grand on your persons and it’s not important enough to remember to keep it in the car, you are one serious gambler! Chip, you are truly a legend and every poker player in the world strives to become a player of your caliber. You will truly be missed and you will never be forgotten.

Chip Reese in most known for being the greatest player you have never heard of. Although Chip owns 3 WSOP bracelets, has 21 cashes, made millions in cash games and tournaments, and won the 2006 Horse championship, Chip embodied the game of poker. If before he passed, you were to go and find the biggest games in Las Vegas, Chip Reese would certainly be there.
