Argentina faced Nigeria and as expected it was a very fast game, The Nigerians did a fantastic job on the defense specially stopping Messi from doing any harm, the kid could not catch a break and his frustration was evident. The African squad not only did a great defense, it also rocked the Argentinean defense. Second half was all Nigerian and fortunate for Argentina the Nigerian strikers were not so refined and précised. Final score was 1- 0 Argentina scored by Heinze and now Argentina will try to stump Korean Republic on the 17th and the Greek with match up against Nigeria on the same date. Saturday was a disappointing day for the English, and the millions o followers worldwide. There has been talk about England being one of the favorites to take home the Cup, but after Saturday’s performance that looks like a long shot. The Englanders at the stadium seemed to be very frustrated at their team’s performance, they expected or I should say, all of us expected a stump but all we got was and embarrassing debut by the 1964 cup winner. Best game of all was Germany and Australia, great mobility and a fest of goals. The German crushing machine had no mercy on the Australians and pounded at will. First goal came at 8 minutes into the game by Lukas Podolski, Miroslav Klose did the same @ 26' Thomas Mueller @ 68' and finally CACAU made the final kill @ 70'. Australia did what they could to prevent eve more of a massacre but it is without a doubt that Australia will be saying goodbye to the world cup very soon. Ghana beats Serbia on another tight game by a penalty shot executed by Asamoah Gyan. The game itself was a sleeper and not worth the time in front of the tube. There was no creativity, no real mobility, and very few incursions. Hopefully the tempo will change in the up coming games; so far it has not been an exciting competition.
