| Stanley Cup Finals Game 6 Preview |
Well all is on the line in the city of Brotherly Love tonight as the Flyers have to win or the Blackhawks will be lifting Lord Stanley’s Cup all around the ice. After the Flyers performance in game five or lack thereof, things aren’t looking good for this series going to a penultimate game seven. That is what you would think in a normal NHL playoff year, which this is most definitely not, as the Flyers have twice come back from the brink and once in historic fashion to stay alive. When NHL clubs backs are against the wall you often see their best hockey and tonight should be no different. Much of their hopes will be on the shoulders of goaltender Michael Leighton , who will be back in net after his horrendous performance at the end of the first period in game five, but Flyers coach Peter Laviolette is sticking with his starter in the most important game of the year. The Hawks top line looked much better in game five and it will be up to them again to set the tone on the road in Philly. Look for Patrick Kane , J Toews, and Kris Versteeg to continue to raise their play and put a ton of pressure on Leighton. The Flyers though have had the answer all playoff’s long, even they way they got into the postseason by winning a shootout on the last day of the season. Philly will dig deep and find a way to extend this series one more game and give themselves a chance at one of the most improbable Stanley Cup runs in recent memory.
