The Canes invade the steel city looking for a signature win against a Pitt team that felt this could be the year of their true rebirth. The Panthers lost a tough opener at Utah , but still have the talent to make a run in the Big East. Miami is thinking they can win the ACC even with their stumble in the week two meeting at Ohio State. The winner of this game will have some large momentum going into the conference portions of their schedule and you can expect a bowl-game type atmosphere at the Big Ketchup Bottle on Thursday night.

Miami coach Randy Shannon ripped into his team after the loss to Ohio State and the Canes had 12 long days to stew over that one and should come into this game angry and fired up. The Fighting Wannstedt's were able to bounce bag with a comfortable win over FCS New Hampshire and know that this is their chance to make a splash. Canes QB and Heisman hopeful Jacory Harris will be a handful for the Pitt D, but the Panthers counter with a Heisman hopeful of their own in RB Dion Harris, who is 100% healthy after battling injuries at times over the past two seasons.

PREDICTION(BASED ON A 1-10 GORDON GEKKO SAVINGS BOND SCALE)

8 GEKKO BONDS ON PITT - The Canes have more depth at defense and a more potent offense, but Pitt is not far behind and the Panthers have been extremely solid in nationally televised night games during Dave Wannstedt’s tenure. Look for this to be a nail biter till the end and for Pitt to come up with a couple game changing plays on both sides of the ball to pull off the upset.
