In what could end up as one of the best pitched World Series in decades , the Rangers and Giants meet by the Bay to kick off the Fall Classic. Game one features one of the most anticipated pitching match up’s for a game one in recent memory and with how Cliff Lee "Jeans" and Tim “Surfin Bird” Lincecum have been hurling in the postseason , might be scoreless after nine innings. The Giants scratched their way past the Braves in the NLDS without scoring many runs ,but ramped up their offensive production in their dismantling of the defending National League champ Philies in the NLCS. The Rangers made their first World Series in franchise history by winning all three games on the road to beat the Rays in the ALDS and then just simply dominated the Yankees to clinch their first ever American League Championship . Having a pitcher like Cliff Lee , who has yet to ever lose a game in the postseason(7-0), is a huge advantage and with the possibility of him throwing in three games if this series goes seven games, the odds are clearly on the Rangers side. Game one is pivotal as always as six of the last seven teams to win game one have gone on to win the World Series PREDICTION(BASED ON A 1-10 BOBBY THOMPSON “SHOT HEARD ROUND THE WORLD” SCALE) 9.2 SHOTS ON THE RANGERS- Lee is simply unbeatable and that is not hyperbole as he has yet to lose a postseason game. That streak will continue by the Bay as the Rangers offense has simply been dominating through two rounds of the playoffs. Even if Lincecum pitches well as he likely will , the Giants will have to score at least four runs if they want to win this one the way the Rangers have been exploding offensively. Look for Texas to play close to flawless in their first ever World Series game and for Lee to show once again why he might be one of the greatest postseason pitchers of all-time. OVER/UNDER OPINION-The total is an absurdly low 6, of course cause of the legendary pitching match up, but even if both pitchers throw great games a 5-3 or 4-3 game is not out of the question. Nerves could definitely come into play on both sides of the mound and both teams bullpens have shown they can give up late runs. I recommend a small play on the over if you want more action on this game then just a play on the side.
