Look for both teams to have no trouble scoring and for this to be a last possession type of game with Tulsa staying within at least a score the whole way as Hawaii‘s D is not much better than the Golden Hurricane‘s. In that time the Panthers have become a decent program that expects to compete for a bowl bid each season after going 9-39 in the pervious four seasons. Toledo had a solid year going 7-1 in league play in the MAC and feel that they are on their way back after dome lean years . Look for FIU to take full advantage of playing in their first bowl game and to be the hungrier and more aggressive team, putting a cherry on top of one of the more impressive building jobs in recent Division 1 history. PICK-FIU +1.5 INDEPENDENCE BOWL (6.5 “BLACK SWANS”) GEORGIA TECH VA AIR FORCE MON DEC 27TH 5PM EST TV ESPN (CURRENT BETPHOENIX.COM LINE IN BOLD) AIR FORCE -3 TOTAL 56 Gotta love two old school triple option offenses going against each other in an era where that is as rare as players that aren't be paid to play college football. Both these teams have the ability to completely dominate on the ground and the front seven of both squads will be tested. Tech is ranked number one in rushing offense while the Falcons are ranked number two. This game will harken back to a different time in college football when the emphasis was on fundamental play over passing and glitzy offensive sets. Tech coach Paul Johnson knows Air Force all to well as he beat them six times while head coach at Navy. This game could go either way, but you have to love Johnson’s history against the Falcons and the Tech defense which is faster and much deeper than the Fly Boys. PICK-GEORGIA TECH +3
