BY DAN THE MAN LEACH HOST SPORTS EDGE RADIO SHOW I for one think the BCS is a joke and 99% of the time it does not work. Even this year you might have the two best teams facing off for the title , but have an undefeated and Rose Bowl winning TCU squad sitting at home. Begrudgingly though you have to admit there really is no other match-up for the title that would make as much sense as Auburn V Oregon. This could end up being one of the most exciting title games in history and has a chance to break point total records that may never be touched again. Auburn comes in with Heisman winner Cam Newton and one of the toughest defenses in the nation. The Ducks come in with the nations top offense and a play-a-second type of offense. Oregon has never seen a defense even close to as powerful or dominating as Auburn's and the Tigers in turn has not seen an offense even remotely close to as potent as the Ducks is. So what gives then? This is going to be a game that will come down to which team wants it more, which team will fight harder in the trenches, and which team will not make the big mistake that could derail their chances of winning college football's ultimate prize. Oregon coach Chip Kelly and Auburn coach Gene Chizik are both in their second year with their respective programs and there is no hiding the fact that what they have both done in little time helming their programs , is remarkable no matter who wins this game. Kelly’s Ducks have relied on RB “George” LaMichael James all season long and QB Darron Thomas has been superb. They will both put up great numbers , but they can’t win this game on their own. Chizik’s front seven on defense is one of the best if not the best fronts in all of college football and that is where the game will be won. Oregon for all their speed and creativity has not seen the speed and power of what Auburn is going to throw at them defensively and add Cam “Juice” Newton to that and it only gets harder to see a Ducks advantage. PREDICTION(BASED ON A 1-10 LITTLE FOCKERS DOUBLE DOSE OF BCS TITLE SCALE) 10 LITTLE FOCKERS ON AUBURN- This should be one of the better games you will ever see for a national title and has the makings of a team with the ball last wins type of game. The bottom line though is that as prolific as the Oregon offense can be , they have not seen the speed and strength of a defense like Auburn’s. The Tigers lived on the edge all season long , but always found a way to come back and win when they were down or hold the lead when teams came storming back. On this night though Auburn will win for many of the reasons I have talked about in this article, but mainly because no one has stopped Cam Newton all season long, and I don't expect that to change Monday night. The SEC will reign supreme yet again and Cam Newton will be so good that he will make a case to be the number one overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft(if there is one). AUBURN 35 OREGON 20
