| College Basketball Game of The Night, #20 North Carolina at #5 Duke |
BY DAN THE MAN LEACH HOST SPORTS EDGE RADIO SHOW Command in the competitive ACC is up for grabs at Cameron Indoor tonight as one of the sports best rivalries get renewed. UNC trails Duke by just one win in conference play in the ACC and tonight could be a huge statement game on the road for the young, but ultra-talented Heels squad. Duke had some hiccups in January , but have been on fire as of late including a absolute dismantling of NC State last weekend. The heels come in on a five game winning streak including a beat down against one of the best defensive teams in the league ion Florida State 89-69. The winner of this game will be in first place in the ACC and take another step towards the regular season conference crown .UNC has been led all season by John “Muppets” Henson who has been scoring at will and Super Frosh Harrison Barnes has been lighting it up lately as well. The heels have another great freshman in Kendall Marshall who has the record for most assists, 16, ever in an ACC game for UNC. Duke’s Kyle Singler may not be easy on the eyes, but he sure is easy on the scoreboard. Singler is third in ACC scoring with 18 points a game and Nolan Smith has been superb averaging league highs of 21 points and 5.6 assists per game and is on pace to become the first player to lead both categories for a season. PREDICTION(BASED ON A 1-10 UNAPPROVED TEMPORARY SUPER BOWL SEATS SCALE) 7.4 SEATS ON THE BLUE DEVILS- Duke had gone through a little funk in January , but over the last couple of weeks they are back to pounding opponents. While UNC has the ability to keep this close and rivalry games can really be tight , Duke is supremely confident these days and at Cameron Indoor it will be tough for the Heels to stay within double digits for most of the game.
