The St Louis Cardinals are getting used to life without superstar Albert Pujols and they got a big dose of reality Tuesday night of just how hard it can be without one of the best players in the Bigs. The Cards led 2-1 through seven innings until the St Louis bullpen imploded giving up eight runs ironically in the eighth. It won't be any easier on Wednesday night under the national TV lights on ESPN as Cliff Lee starts for the “Fighting Phils”. Lee has been hot as of late and has only given up one run in his past 24 innings, including a two-hit shutout against the Marlins last Thursday.

The Cards will counter with Kyle Lohse who has had a solid year with a 7-3 record and 2.88 ERA. Lohse has gone the opposite direction of Lee as his numbers have fallen off in June. St Louis is lucky to have Matt “Last” Holliday off the DL cause with Prince Albert out, it would have only been that more offensively challenging for the Cards with one of the better power hitters in the game in Holliday out as well. The Cards need to stop the bleeding and a big home win on national TV could be just what the doctor ordered.

PREDICTION(BASED ON A 1-10 “BAD TEACHER” LATEX RULER SCALE )

7.8 LATEX RULERS ON THE CARDINALS- .The Cardinals were playing pretty poorly before Pujols got injured, if they are not careful now, when he gets back they could be a distant memory in the division. This is a great spot value-wise for St Louis, coming off a bad loss and playing in front of a national TV audience is a great double-double when it comes to mid-season baseball.
