The Pittsburgh Pirates might have not made the playoffs since 1992, but they are making a not only strong , but legitimate push to reach baseball's postseason this year. The Pirates are excelling in all facets of the game , but if you had to pin one down that is truly leading to their success, it would be intangibles. Knowing how to win a game that seems lost and knowing how to get that clutch hit or pitch to lead to a win.

Tuesday night we will see a excellent pitching matchup in Hotlanta as the Pirates send the heating-up Jeff Karstens with his eight wins and superb 2.28 ERA to the hill. Karstens has won five of his last six decisions dating back to June 3rd and has really put his entire arsenal together in the process. The Braves counter with Tommy Hanson who is just one win of the MLB lead , going 11-5 do far this year with a solid 3.06 ERA.

The Braves as almost a 2-1 favorite just don’t have value here and the Pirates seem to know they need to bring it every night and will do it again on Tuesday.
