The annual time has come to celebrate both the Jewish Festival of Lights as well as the Heisman Trophy. The hardware will be given out Saturday night in New York City and I am going to break down all four…woops.... I guess I have to count Tim Tebow, five finalists that have a shot at winning the most coveted individual trophy in all of sports..

5-FLORIDA QB-TIM CRYBOW +$1500, Yes he is going to NY much to the dismay to much of the country, but in his defense he was spectacular at times this season. It doesn’t change the fact that Tebow has been highly overrated for much of his career. While he is a great college QB , much more of his brilliance can be chalked up the the offense Florida runs and the fact he has tons of TD’s from inside the five yard line isn’t nearly as impressive as let’s say Gerhart's 200 yard rushing games and absurd long TD runs or Ingram’s sheer brilliance and creativity when all seems lost on a play. Tebow is going to play ion then NFL , but it will not be as a QB or at least a very good one. Getting invited to New York was merely a salute to what was a great career in college for Tebow, he has no shot at winning this award in 2009.

4-NEBRASKA DT NDAMUKONG SUH +$350, Simply the most dominant defensive player since Charles Woodson in 1997. Woodson won the Heisman that year and while I don’t think Suh will win it this year, it has to be noted he is the first defensive lineman to not only have a real shot and winning, but in a different year might have taken home the Heisman which is truly impressive. There has not been as dominant a defenbsive player since Woodson and there won;t be again for some time. Look for Suh to dominate on Sunday’s for many years to come.

3-TEXAS QB COLT MCCOY- +$250, This was McCoy’s award to lose all season long and that is just what he did in the latter part of the season. He wasn't bad by any stretch of the imagination,. But in the tight game against Nebraska in the Big 12 title game and through the last month of the season, he just didn’t look like his usual self. I think he will still get a decent amount fo votes from the South region, but in the end it will not be enough to overtake Gerhart or Ingram.

2-STANFORD RB TOBY”KEITH” GERHART +$200, Gerhart has been simply sensational this season and has restored many a fans faith in tough, physical running, and true heart. Gerhart will need to pull off a minor upset to win this award being from the West Coast, but if certain regions fall his way could absolutely win this award and is very deserving to. In my opinion I think Ingram has had the more impressive overall season being the best player on the best team, but Gerhart was definitely the best player on a pretty good team, but made them so much better.

1- ALABAMA RB MARK INGRAM +$150, Was his super performance in the SEC title game win over Florida the clincher? I think so and over the entire season Ingram has been simply amazing. This award is supposed to go out to the most outstanding player in college football and yes Toby Gerhart has been almost as spectacular, but whether you like it or not playing on the best team in the country doe make a difference and that is why I think Ingram takes home the hardware Saturday night and wins the 75th annual Heisman Trophy.
