The Menorah has been lit, Christmas trees have been put up, warm egg nog is in the toaster oven, and one of the greatest times of year has arrived, college football bowl season! Over the next few weeks I am going to break down all 34 bowl games from all angles, even ones you didn't know existed, leading up to the National Title game with Texas and Bama battling for the ultimate prize.

The bowl season gets going with a better match-up then most people think. The Wyoming Cowboys quietly played some good football towards the end of the season and have a potent offense when firing on all cylinders and will be fired up to play in their first bowl game in five years. Fresno State as usual played a tough schedule which always makes them a good bowl play, but this year is a different as the Cowboys are getting way too many points to sleep on.

Two teams with pretty good season face off in Tampa for the ST Pete bowl Saturday night and expect points a plenty in the air. The Scarlet Knights have won three bowl games in a row and have always been tough this time of year since coach Greg Schiano took over the program in 2001. UCF has the fourth best rushing defense in the nation only allowing 82.5 yards a game, which is bad news for a Rutgers attack that centered on the ground.

The Big Easy should be a lot of fun Sunday night as two teams that score a lot of points will be on display in the New Orleans Bowl. MTSU won six straight to end the regular season and appear in their first bowl since 2006. The Blue Raiders run a spread offense and scored over 41 points a game during their win streak and playing on a hot team in their bowl game has made many a pretty penny during bowl season.. Southern Miss is tough defensively as always , but will have its hands full against a type of offense they have not faced much in recent years. Golden Eagles QB Martevious Young has thrown 13 TD’s and only on INT this season.

By far the best of the early bowl games as two teams that had a chance for much bigger things this season face off in the Las Vegas Bowl. BYU save a couple of poor performances was good enough to have played in a BCS Bowl this season and Oregon State was minutes away from playing in the Rose Bowl before their heartbreaking loss to rival Oregon. This game has all the makings for a classic and should be back and forth the whole way. This is the first time the Las Vegas Bowl will feature two ranked teams.
