This could end up being one of the better bowl games of the early bowl season as these two teams are pretty balanced on both sides of the ball it should be back and forth all evening long. On paper this would look like an easy win for the Bulldogs, but in the great words of Sammy Davis Jr, “That’s why they play the game”. The Bulldogs have given up 40 or more points three times this season and the Aggies rank 23rd in the nation in scoring so look for a high scoring game with little or no defense. The difference maker could be Aggies QB Jerrod Johnson who has been huge this year throwing for 3,217 yards and 28 TD’s this season while also running 455 yards and 8 TD’s. 2.9 MUGS OF EGG NOG ON TEXAS A&M EAGLEBANK BOWL TUESDAY DEC 29TH 4:30 PM EST TV ESPN TEMPLE(9-3) VS UCLA(6-6) (CURRENT BETPHOENIX.COM LINE) UCLA -4 TOTAL 45 This is one of the wackiest bowl match-up’s in recent memory. UCLA needed Navy to beat Army in their annual tussle just to get into this game and will be making their first trip to the East Coast since a loss at Miami in 1998. The Owls are in a bowl game for the first time since most of you were born and could win 10 games in a season for the first time since electricity was invented. The Bruins clearly have more talent , but Temple should be truly fired up for this one and we saw what happened with a team playing in their first bowl game in decades as SMU destroyed the favored Nevada last week. 3.5 MUGS OF EGG NOG ON TEMPLE(NEVER SLEEP ON TEMPLE RIGHT AFTER A JEWISH HOLIDAY CHAMPS SPORTS BOWL TUESDAY DEC 29TH 8 EST TV ESPN MIAMI(9-3) VS WISCONSIN(9-3) (CURRENT BETPHOENIX.COM LINE) MIAMI -3.5 TOTAL 58 Another great early match-up as the Big Ten faces off against the ACC with two teams that really want to end their season on a high note and go into 2010 with high hopes. The Canes have had a bit of a resurgence this season under coach Randy Shannon after having a lot of problems both on and off the field over the past couple of years. QB Jacory Harris, who threw for 3,164 yards and 23 Td’s as a sophomore, was a fringe Heisman candidate this year and is much of the reason the future looks very bright in South Florida. The Badgers finished strong winning 4 of their final five and rocked Hawaii on the island 51-10 to end their regular season. Both these teams can score in bunches , but I just feel Miami has more weapons and with the Canes defense causing a couple Badgers turnovers should be able to win this one comfortably. 4 MUGS OF EGG NOG ON MIAMI HUMANITARIAN BOWL WEDNESDAY DEC 30TH 4:30 PM EST TV ESPN IDAHO(7-5) VS BOWLING GREEN(7-5) (CURRENT BETPHOENIX.COM LINE) BOWLING GREEN -2 TOTAL 68.5 Points should be a plenty in the Idaho sky as the Vandals basically play a home game when they meet Bowling Green in the Humanitarian Bowl. The game is at Boise State’s field , but Idaho will travel well from nearby Moscow and they expect at least 16,000 Idaho alumni to see them play in their first bowl game since 1998. Bowling Green had a decent year, but their QB Tyler Sheehan had a very good one throwing for a career high 3, 664 yards and 23 TD’s. This should be a shootout and the home flavored crowd should be a big advantage for the Vandals. 3.5 MUGS OF EGG NOG ON IDAHO HOLIDAY BOWL WED DEC 30TH 8 PM EST TV ESPN ARIZONA(8-4) VS NEBRASKA(9-4) (CURRENT BETPHOENIX.COM LINE) ARIZONA -1 TOTAL 40 Always one of the seasons best bowl games year after year and this season contest should be no different featuring two teams on the rise. The Huskers have one of the best college defensive players in recent memory in DT Ndamukong Suh and were one second away from upsetting Texas in the Big 12 Championship Game. Zona had an awakening under Mike Stoops this season and were able to beat the mighty USC Trojans as well as in-state rival Arizona State. I am a little shocked that the Cats are favored in this one as they are definitely good enough to win this game, but in no way should be favored against one of the best defenses in recent college football history. 4.4 MUGS OF EGG NOG ON NEBRASKA
